In response to business demand Magpie Recycling Co-operative has launched a recycling service for businesses based along the coast between Brighton and Eastbourne. Recycling waste instead of throwing it away helps businesses to save money because it avoids having to pay the landfill tax - which is going up by 33% in April 2008 - and ensures your business is complying with the latest waste regulations that came into force on 30th October 2007 (for the 'treatment of non-hazardous waste').
Materials collected include:
- paper (including confidential paper)
- cardboard
- IT equipment
- plastics
- glass
- tins and cans
- tetrapaks
- textiles, books and toners
Magpie provide clear plastic sacks for your materials. The bags are the size of a bin bag and cost £1.35 + VAT per bag to collect.
Confidential paper is collected in white bags, shredded then recycled and costs £4 + VAT per bag.
Cardboard can be in cubic meter sacks, which cost £5.50 + VAT.
Magpie will provide Waste Transfer Notes, as required by the Duty of Care.
